Bearden’s bunch to face Coronado tonight in Lubbock

The varsity Maiden basketball team will play Coronado tonight in Lubbock at 6 p.m.
“We will have to play well,” Coach Leland Bearden said. “We will have to take care of the basketball and play smart.”
The Maidens hold a 8-3 record after the 48-42 win over Cooper on Dec. 9.
“We started off really well and executed really well,” Bearden said.
“We got sloppy at times, but I’m proud the girls held on and won.”
Bearden took his 600th career win on Dec. 2 with a 74-35 win over Klondike.
“It felt good,” Bearden said. “It was just a number. It’s about the kids. I haven’t won any games, the kids have.”
