Thirty-four vocalists qualified for state solo and ensemble contest after trying out at Frenship High School. State contest is at end of May.
Twenty-six took superior ratings on Class I solos: freshman Monroe Ali’imatfitafi, junior Jackson Archuleta, sophomore Chloe Baldwin, senior Zaiden Bergen, sophomore Salah Bernal, junior Nylah Carrasco, sophomore Lailani Castaneda, freshman Yolene Chavez, junior Leanna Dyck, junior Luke Elder, freshman Damian Flores, senior Nayeli Gamboa, sophomore Taberah Georges, sophomore Debbi Giesbrecht, junior Kloe Giesbrecht, senior Jazlynn Holmstrom, senior Ethan Laub, sophomore Ayden Nieto, sophomore Jasslyn Ontiveros, junior Alyssa Peters, sophomore Seth Peters, junior Isaiah Rempel, sophomore Lily Rempel, senior Emily Tagle, freshman Samuel Thiessen, junior Natasha Wieler.
Three ensembles advanced to state. Ensemble one includes: Archuleta, Bergen, K. Giesbrecht, Holmstrom, sophomore Elisia Jaramillo, L. Rempel and Sotello. Ensemble two includes: Bernal, junior Tristan Flemons, senior Ivy Flores, Georges, Laub, senior Phillip Morrow, Nieto, Peters and Tagle. Ensemble three includes: Elder, senior Itzel Galindo, Gamboa, D. Giesbrecht, junior Logen Lee, I. Rempel, senior Serina Wiebe.
Two soloists took superior ratings on Class II pieces: freshman Samantha Dominguez and freshman Yolanda Peters Giesbrecht.
