The UIL academic team officially took the district championship with 596 points after the speech competition concluded on April 2 in Monahans.
First through third places advance to regionals.

In prose interpretation, senior Kobe Cabello was first, senior Reese Dickson was third and sophomore Ania Morales was fifth.
In poetry interpretation, junior Joey Penner was first, while senior Nehemiah McCoy was third.
In Lincoln-Douglas debate, sophomore Aylev Gutierrez was fourth and freshman Isabella Lopez was fifth.
In informative speaking, junior Cooper Sales was first, junior Elijah Lapusan was third, and sophomore Jaclyn Ontiveros was fifth.
In persuasive speaking, Penner was first and Gutierrez was fourth.
In calculator applications, the team of senior Eva Thiessen, junior Victoria Baros, sophomore Taylor Morris and junior Peyton Bailey took first place with Thiessen in first individually and Baros in sixth.
In current issues and events, the team of junior Anaiah Beydoun, senior Tristan Goodwin, senior Carlee Cottrell and senior Noah Franco took first. Individualy, Beydoun was first, and Goodwin was third.
In journalism, the team of Beydoun, senior Mia Cowan, senior Melissa Gutierrez Tarango, junior Mattie Hice and junior Susana Payan-Quintana took first overall in the five contests.
In copyediting, Payan-Quintana took first and Beydoun was second.
In editorial writing, Hice was first and Cowan took sixth.
In feature writing, Hice took first, Gutierrez Tarango was second and Cowan took fourth.
In headline writing, Hice was first, Cowan was second and Gutierrez Tarango took fourth.
In news writing, Gutierrez Tarango was first, Beydoun took second and Payan-Quintana was fourth.
In literary criticism, the team of senior Serena Wiebe, Cowan, Beydoun, and junior Logen Leetook first. Individually, Wiebe was first, Cowan was fourth and Beydoun was fifth.
In mathematics, the team of Thiessen, junior Avery Wood, Payan-Quintana and junior Addison Armstrong took first. Individually, Thiessen was first, Wood was second, Payan-Quintana was fifth and Armstrong was sixth.
In number sense, the team of Thiessen, senior Tristan Stixrud, junior Jaxon Hand and junior Mason Rochell took first. Individually, Thiessen was first, Stixrud was third, Hand was fourth, Rochelle was fifth and freshman Samuel Thiessen was sixth.
In social studies, the team of Beydoun, Franco, junior Jenny Chen and Cottrell took second. Individually, Beydoun was first and Franco was third.
In spelling, sophomore Carolina Harms was fifth.
