The UIL academic team took 18th place at the state meet on May 18-19 at the University of Texas with four students bringing home medals.
Senior Mia Cowan won the state championship in headline writing, scoring 17 out of a possible 18 points.
Junior Aniah Beydoun took fifth in current issues and events with a 60 raw score and an 11 essay score.
Junior Joey Penner took fifth in poetry interpretation.
Senior Eva Thiessen took the sixth place medal in mathematics with a score of 196.
