Fourteen additional band members qualified for the all-region honor band after tryouts in Abernathy on Jan. 15. They will join the seven members of the all-region band chosen in December (Seven musicians earned right to try out for area band) in a concert for the entire Association of Texas Small School Bands Region 16 Concert on Feb. 24 in the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
Honor band members include: flutes–sophomore Jacob Stokes-third chair, junior Addison Aguilar-fifth chair; clarinets–senior Aliegha McNair-first chair, senior Daniel Fierro Lara-14th chair; saxophones–junior Jorge Miranda-second chair (alto), senior Tristan Stixrud-second chair (tenor); trumpets–senior Tristan Goodwin-10th chair; French horns–senior Tristan Hare-fifth chair; trombones–sophomore Angel Pineda-sixth chair; euphoniums–senior Josiah Torres-fourth chair; tubas–junior Aldo Caballero-first chair, sophomore Ramon Prieto-ninth chair; Percussion 1–sophomore Tristan Rey-third chair, sophomore Carson Wade-fourth chair, senior Zaiden Bergen; Percussion 2–freshman Ruben Villalobos-second chair.
Two musicians were alternates, senior Alexis Wiebe-euphonium and freshman Auralee Sumrow-Percussion 2.
