Sixteen of the 28 area choir members are from SHS after auditions on Nov. 14 in Plainview. Of those 16, three are first chairs.

These musicians have earned the chance to audition for the Texas Music Educators Association All-state Choir in January.

The auditions involve singing excerpts from new music received after all-region auditions in October as well as being able to correctly sight read an eight-bar exercise.

Area choir members include: sopranos junior Jessica Giesbrecht-second chair, sophomore Margarita Maese Carbajal-seventh chair; altos junior Angie Klassen Enns-first chair, junior Aubrey Brown-fifth chair, senior Olivia Rempel-eighth chair; tenors junior Jonathan Holt-first chair, senior Garrett Lentz-second chair, junior Landon Elder-third chair, freshman Zaiden Bergen-fourth chair; basses sophomore Garrett Sellers-first chair, junior Carsen Cox-third chair, junior Alec Bergen-fourth chair, junior Aiden Garibay-fifth chair, sophomore Owen Call-sixth chair, junior Nathan Friessen-seventh chair and senior Jordan Giesbrecht-eighth chair.
