With a seemingly endless amount of assignments and no access to our phones anymore, school can seem insanely boring. Fortunately, there is an easy solution to this problem: get more involved.
It is the nature of a student to feel that going to school is not great, but if students were to get more involved, school would become more enjoyable. Extracurricular activities provide an outlet for students to express themselves in multiple ways. Additionally, extracurriculars require commitment that can easily solve the boredom faced by students.
Uninvolved students argue that the commitment needed for extracurriculars is too much, whether it be time, grades etc. Though commitment is hard work, when it’s something you genuinely enjoy doing, it becomes easier. There are enough activities at our school for each student to find his or her niche.
Extracurriculars don’t just make school more enjoyable in the moment, they also provide students with opportunities after high school. Being more involved is a great way for students to learn skills they will use later in life. Activities can even provide scholarships or pathways into the workforce, making getting involved worth it, regardless of what a student plans to do later in life.
Getting more involved is a clear solution for students who don’t enjoy school. Whether it be through joining a new extracurricular or doing more for those he or she is currently in, getting more involved provides clear benefits.
Boredom, or just not enjoying school, are problems that need to be solved. If students get more involved, school will not only become less boring, but also students will also be provided with benefits well past high school.
