The Maidens fell short to the Dalhart Wolves, 29-27, 24-26, 25-14, 25-13, in the area championship at Plainview High School on Nov. 8.

The loss was only the seventh in the Maidens 35-7 season after they finished a perfect district season and defeated San Elizario in three in the bi-district round.

Against Dalhart, junior Kendall Freeman had 26 kills while senior Susan Reimer had 17. Junior Melanie Sendejo had five blocks. Freeman had eight points on serve while junior Abygail Navarro had six. Junior Lexee Shain had 26 assists, and senior Julie Nave followed with 23. Freeman had 23 digs, while Reimer had 16, and Shain had 14.
