Indian basketball to face Canyon in region quarterfinals

I’ll take that–Freshman forward Caton Cramer gets a steal during the first quarter of area play on Feb. 24. Cramer had two steals and seven rebounds in the Indian victory over El Paso Austin.

The Indian basketball team will face Canyon in the region quarterfinals on Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Lubbock Christian University.

The Indians (26-6) will be the visiting team, while Canyon (26-2) will be home. Tickets can be purchased online  at https://tinyurl.com/yw9bknumare for $7 each.

The Indians defeated El Paso Austin, 57-34, on Feb. 24 to take the area championship.

The Indians led each quarter, pulling away as they outscored the Golden Panthers, 16-6 in the fourth.

Senior forward Blake Flowers led scoring for the Indians with 19 points,  while senior guard Rylan McCormick had 11 points, senior forward John Stoglin had nine and both freshman forward Caton Cramer and junior guard Channing Carter had eight.

Flowers and Cramer led rebounding with seven a piece.

McCormick and Flowers led in assists with five each.

Carter led the Indians in steals with four.
