Fifty vocalists qualified for state UIL Solo and Ensemble competition in May after contest in Friendship on Feb. 3.

Four ensembles earned the state trip with a Division I “Superior” rating singing the

madrigal “Sing We and Chant It” by Thomas Morley:

Ensemble 1: Call, Cox, Cuesta Rodriguez, Elder, Garibay, Giesbrecht, Klassen Enns, senior Aryn Roybal and Rudder.

Ensemble 2: A. Bergen, Z. Bergen, Brown, Holmstrom, Holt, Carbajal, Neudorf, Sellers, Alexis Wiebe and senior Aricela Wiebe

Ensemble 3: Friessen, Garza, junior Myka Hernandez, junior Raquel Lara, Leanos, junior Morelia Medina Macias, Nunez Ruiz, Tagle and junior Danny Tran.

Ensemble 4: junior Amaris Casarez, junior Jack Chen, sophomore Ivy Flores, Gamboa, sophomore Philipp Morrow, Ramirez, Salazar, Sotelo, S. Wiebe and senior Josilyn Wilkerson

madrigal “Coletta” by Francois-Auguste Gevaert:
