Tennis begins spring season

The spring season for Indian and Maiden tennis has started with a small team.

“We don’t have as much people this year,” sophomore Alondra Gonzales said, “but I still think we are going to do great.”

The Indians and Maidens played at the Brownfield tourney on Feb. 19.

“We had some trouble against the team in Brownfield,” junior Morgan Gersbach said. “We should be ready once we hit the important part of the season.”

Players are trying different techniques to position the racket better.

“I have to keep changing my grip to help with spin on the ball,” junior Debbie Froese. “It helps with changing up your shot to try to score.”

The team will host the home meet on March 4.
