Tennis begins spring season

The Indians and Maidens fell to Monahans 4-3 in the first matches of the spring season on Jan. 28 in Monahans.
In women’s singles, junior Elizeth Villa defeated Megan R. (Monahans), 8-3.
In men’s singles, Jesus D. (Monahans) defeated sophomore Jonathan Holdridge, 8-2; Victor T. (Monahans) defeated senior Logan Gersbach, 8-1.
In women’s doubles, freshman Debbie Froese and freshman Nancy Funk defeated Hannah V. and Abbie G. (Monahans), 6-1, 6-3; Paula H. and Lav W. (Monahans) defeated junior Isela Zamora and freshman Morgan Gersbach, 6-3, 6-1.
In men’s doubles, Holdridge and L. Gerbach defeated Adrian G. and Oskar T. (Monahans), 6-3.
In mixed doubles, Kelsey D. and Alex G. (Monahans) defeated junior Aubrey Owen and junior Easton Swinnea, 6-3, 1-6, 10-8.
