Indian runners take second place in Morton with Diaz as champion

Freshman Ian Diaz sprints toward the finish in first place as his dad shouts encouragement in the distance. Diaz helped the Indians take second place overall at the Morton meet on Sept.

The Indian cross country team took second place overall at the Morton invitational on Sept. 7, capturing the first place individually for the second year in a row.

Freshman Ian Diaz took first place with a time of  17:46.58. Senior Michael Condarco, who took the individual win last year, was seventh (19:02.11) followed by freshman Jarryd Karr in 13th (20:22.45), senior Jesse Carrillo in 15th (20:48.55), freshman Evan Manzano in 16th (20:52.83), sophomore Skyler Franklin in 18th (20:57.30), and sophomore Chris Arzate in 23th (21:52.70).
