38 qualify for state band solo and ensemble
The band qualified 38 members for UIL state solo and ensemble competition at region contest on Feb. 20 in Lubbock. Division I performances advanced. They will perform at state in Austin at the end of May.
Division I solos included:
Sophomore Jessica Callaway on tenor saxophone, freshman Amy Schultz on trumpet, senior Katelin Reed on trumpet, junior Layne Alvarado on trumpet, junior Sarah Smith on percussion, sophomore Kami Luettgen on percussion, junior Daniel Rodriguez on percussion and freshman Jude Gomez on percussion
Division I ensembles included:
