Sixty-three choir members advance to state solo and ensemble

Sixty-three choir members advanced to state solo and ensemble competition after UIL competition at Frenship High School on Jan. 30. The students will compete at state in Plugerville in May.

Division I solos qualifying for state included sophomore Isabel Acosta, senior Tori Acosta, freshman Seth Allain, senior Jason Arrezola, sophomore Courtney Blair, senior Blayne Childers, sophomore Kenna Currie, senior Bryce Darby, freshman Ethan Doubrava, senior Skyler Franklin, junior Debbie Froese, junior Yanomi Garcia, junior Morgan Gersbach, junior Bricia Lira, senior Abby Navarro, junior Aryssa Nichols, senior Jasmine Ochoa, junior Laura Patterson, sophomore Jamie Philipp, junior Baelee Rodriguez, freshman Austin Shortes, junior Kaitlyn Summers, senior Neil Thiessen, senior Sadie Wheeler, sophomore Lori Wilson, sophomore Abigail Wolf and junior Monique Zamora.

Seven ensembles earned Division I ratings and qualified for state including three performing the madrigal, “Now is the Month of Maying” by Thomas Morley. (Ensemble I:  I. Acosta, T. First Division  Class II solos included freshman Abigail Avitia Lopez, freshman Marc Barricklow, freshman Jesus Bustamante, freshman Barbara Landeros Capetillo, freshman Nat Little and freshman Aracely Muro.
