FFA competes in fairs around the state

FFA members have been competing around the state in fair livestock competitions

During the first week of October, students showed animals at the State Fair of Texas.

Senior Jarrot Foote took eighth with a heavy weight Yorkshire market hog.

Junior Paige Perryman presented a third place Maine and a fourth place Simmental market steer.

Sophomore Kabrynna Todd exhibited with and sixth place market steers.

At the Permian Basin Fair in Odessa during the second week in September,  in market lambs, sophomore Carlye Winfrey took grand champion as well as breed championships in medium wool and Southdown.

Perryman took first place in Maine market steer, second place in Hereford and second place in Simmental market steer.

During the West Texas Fair in Abilene during Sept. 7-18, senior Foote took breed champion with his red angus market steer. Foote also won breed champion with his Yorkshire market hog.

Sophomore Todd placed fourth and fifth with her market steers.

During the Panhandle South Plains Fair on Sept. 23-28, Winfrey took breed champion with her Southdown market lamb.

Todd took sixth and 10th with her market steers.
