The Maiden softball team will host Pecos in league play on March 22 as the squad looks for its first district win.

Currently, the team’s overall record is 16-9-1 with an 0-2 district mark.

The Maidens defeated Lubbock Christian, 13-3, in non-district play on March 19.

Freshman Natalie Deleon was on the mound for the Maidens for five innings, striking out four.

Junior Kassey Gallardo had five runs batted in, while junior Alicia Rosalez had two.
