Spring tennis defeats Midland Lee by two matches
The tennis team won five matches and lost three matches against Midland Lee on Jan. 20.
In men’s singles, sophomore Alex Froese defeated Lee’s Abel Navarette, 6-3, 6-4; freshman Jason Giesbrecht lost to Lee’s Matthew Portillo, 6-3, 4-6, 8-10.
In women’s singles, senior Alondra Gonzales defeated Lee’s Destinee Hemphill 6-2, 6-1.
In men’s doubles, freshman John Neufeld Fehr and freshman Justin Giesbrecht lost to Lee’s Dhamija and Dimri, 6-1, 7-5; sophomore Logan Larson and freshman James Giesbrecht lost to Lee’s Hernandez and Telesca, 6-0, 6-1
In women’s doubles, senior Caanon Gibbons and sophomore Jasmin Klassen defeated Castro and Brewer, 6-2, 7-5; Barbara Landeros Capetillo and senior Marcela Guevara defeated Lee’s Lawrence and Saenz, 6-4, 7-5.
In mixed doubles, freshman Daniel Fehr and freshman Paulina Morales Mendoza defeated Lee’s Haney and Leinger, 7-5, 6-7(5) 10-8.
