Junior Madi Werner moved up five places with her deadlift at the state meet to take third overall in 4A competition on March 20. Werner added 300 pounds to her total with deadlift, lifting a combined 675 pounds total in the 105-pound category.

Werner scored points to put the Maiden team in 22nd place overall.

Junior Brittany Kelly took eighth in the 148-pound category with a total weight of 805 pounds.

Senior Andrew Alvidrez will compete in the state meet for the fourth year in a row representing the Indians this weekend in Abilene.
