Maidens begin district with win over Monahans
Pitching a win–
Freshman Jodie Vaughn pitches in the 10-0 win over Monahans. Vaughn had six strike outs, walked two and allowed 12 hits and four runs in the outing.
The Maiden softball team began district with a win over Monahans, 10-4, on March 17.
Freshman Jodie Vaughn pitched the win for the Maidens.
Senior shortstop Melanie Sendejo led the Maidens with a triple and single base hits with two runs batted in.
The Maidens combined for 15 hits on 32 at bats and nine RBIs.
The district games scheduled in Fort Stockton scheduled for March 21 have been rained out. The games will be played on March 23 in Fort Stockton with varsity at 5:30 p.m. and JV at 7 p.m.
