The speech and debate team qualified six members in five events for national competition after the qualifying meet in Lubbock on Feb. 21-22.

Speakers qualified in the following:  duo interpretation– senior Alexis Hastings and junior Alissa Wright; in humorous interpretation, senior Dakota Crump; in dramatic interpretation; sophomore Blayne Childers; in foreign extemporaneous speaking, senior Shawn Barndollar; in domestic extemporaneous speaking, junior Jimmie Vaughn.

The qualifiers will compete in Kansas City, Mo., in June.
