The forensics team took sweepstakes in El Paso on Dec. 3. Senior Brooklynn James, junior Bryan Rickman and senior Angela Sims qualified for the Texas Forensics Association State tournament which will be held in Amarillo in March.
In prose senior Jasmine Torres took the championship, Sims took third, junior Tonya Sodd took fourth, junior Shawn Barndollar took fifth and sophomore Brice Gibbons took sixth.
In domestic extemporaneous speaking Barndollar took second.
In duet acting Sims and Bryan Rickman took second, Alexis Hastings and sophomore Christian Tovar took fourth, Trey Cates and Sodd took fifth, sophomore Kaley Johnson and freshman John Paul Sales took sixth, James and sophomore Jadon Hatley took seventh.
In cross-examination debate senior Haylee Dodson and senior D.J. Rickman took third.
In humorous interpretation James took second, Hastings took fourth and Gibbons took sixth.
In poetry Gibbons took the championship, James took second, Sales took fourth, Torres took fifth and Hastings took sixth.
In dramatic interpretation Bryan Rickman took the championship, Torres took second, Hatley took fourth and Hastings took eighth.
In original oratory D.J. Rickman took fourth.
