One-act play advances to bi-district

Bi-district qualifiers–Freshman Owen Adam, freshman Matthew Peters, sophomore Ashlynne White, junior Joseph Rezac, sophomore Hannah Jones, junior Alexis Hyatt, sophomore Rachel Rempel, sophomore Kate Emig, freshman Leah Martin, senior Jimmy Dyck, freshman Javen Gutierrez, junior Cassandra Fuentes, senior Cloe Webb, junior Ruger Scott, senior Dalilah Trevino, senior Arleen Nava, director Collin Evans, director Rey Montoya

The one-act play, When the Rain Stops Falling advanced out of district on March 4, qualifying it for bi-district competition on March 26 in Midland. The other two advancing plays were from Andrews and Greenwood.

Individual honors went to senior Arleen Nava as best performer, senior Dalilah Trevino as all-star cast, junior Ruger Scott and senior Jimmy Dyck as honorable mention all-star cast. Additionally, junior Joseph Rezac took an award for technical projections, while the crew was named as top technical crew.

The play cast and crew earned 31 points as an event toward the overall district UIL championship. Other events will take place on March 21 in Fort Stockton and March 29 in Monahans.
