Speech team takes sweepstakes in Amarillo

The speech team took sweepstakes at the Amarillo Tascosa meet on Sept. 28.

In foreign extemporaneous speaking, senior Jaicen Clark took third, and junior Alayna Amen was sixth.

In domestic extemporaneous speaking, junior Cathryn Johnson was third.

In duet acting, the team of senior Daniel Salas and Johnson took fourth.

In humorous interpretation, junior Seth Barrientes took fourth, senior Eleny Macias was sixth and junior Sky Reyes took seventh.

In program oral interpretation, junior Reese Cooper was second.

In dramatic interpretation, Amen took second, Cooper was third, Salas took fifth and Macias was sixth.

In poetry, Reyes was second, Johnson was third, junior Andrea Neufeld was fourth, freshman Lacee Friesen was fifth, and sophomore Makayla Randolph took sixth.

In prose, Macias was second, Reyes was third, Clark took fourth, junior Dayana Busanes was fifth, and senior Madison Dyck took sixth.

Cooper qualified for Texas Forensic Association state competition in El Paso in March.
