Speech team wins in Snyder

The speech team took first at the Snyder meet on Nov. 22.

In prose, sophomore Ashley Harder was first, junior Ivan Froese was fourth, junior Kelby Miller was fifth, junior Kolt Blackmon was sixth, junior Destiny Winn was seventh, and junior Daniel Griffin was eighth.

In poetry, Harder was third, Miller was fourth, junior Vanessa Torres was fifth, and senior Allisa Wright was sixth.

In duet acting, Wright and Miller were first, and Blackmon and sophomore Faith Klassen were second.

In dramatic interpretation, Blackmon was first, senior Jordan Smith was second, Miller was third, Wright was fourth, Harder was fifth, and sophomore David Glendinning was sixth.

In duo interpretation, Harder and Klassen were first, Froese and Smith were second, senior Kyle Rickman and senior Jimmie Vaughn were third, and Torres and senior Erynn James were fifth.

In humorous interpretation, Miller was fourth, and Harder was sixth.

In domestic extemporaneous speaking, Vaughn was first, junior Cassandra Schultz was third, junior Antonio Porras was fifth, Miller was sixth.

In foreign extemporaneous speaking, Rickman was third.

In Lincoln-Douglas debate, Schultz was first. Harder was named outstanding interper.

Harder, Klassen, Miller, Wright, and Schultz qualified for Texas Forensic Association state competition.
