PINKED OUT FOR THE CAUSE: Annual activity raises funds to fight disease

As usual, October is breast cancer awareness month and familiar pink clothing and accessories colored fans and athletes alike.

The cheerleaders once again sold pink out shirts for the Oct. 16 pep rally and game from which they collected approximately $1,000 to donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the American Cancer Society Lubbock Lodge.

Memorial Hospital added to the pink with fan towels handed out at both the Oct. 16 football game and the Oct. 20 volleyball game.

Songs, balloons and face paint put the disease’s impact in the forefront as students, faculty and fans banded together for the cause.
