Theater department stages fall productions

The fall productions Over the River and Through the Woods and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot were performed Oct. 26 and 28.

The cost of the two productions together cost $150. According to drama teacher Josh Harriman, he theatre department didn’t want to spend too much money on these plays because they wanted to save funds for future productions.

The roles in Over the River and Through the Woods are very spread  between six different people, and the play was student directed by seniors Alexis Hastings and Jadon Hatley.

Over the River and Through the Woods is completely directed by students,” Harriman said. “They’re very experienced, and I thought they would be able to take on the play by themselves.”

In The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, senior Bailey Hughes and junior Madison Burtch played the lawyers, while junior John Paul Sales was Judas, and senior Christian Tovar was Jesus.

Harriman chose these two plays due to the large number of theater students he has this year, so he looked for plays with numerous roles.

“The two plays were interesting,” Harriman said. “Over the River and Through the Woods is humorous and very relatable to anyone who has a family, so we thought that one would be good for the fall.”
