Speakers take tops in Muleshoe meet

The speech team took sweepstakes at the Muleshoe meet on Sept. 14.

In prose, senior Eleny Macias was first, junior Moises Ybaben Burciaga was third, junior Alayna Amen took fourth, junior Cathryn Johnson was fifth and junior Reese Cooper was sixth.

In poetry, Cooper took first, Macias was third, Johnson was fourth, senior Madison Dyck was fifth and senior Daniel Salas took sixth.

In dramatic interpretation, Dyck was second, Cooper was third, Macias was fifth, senior Jaicen Clark was sixth and junior Natasha Fehr was seventh.

In humorous interpretation, junior Sky Reyes was second and Macias took third.

In foreign extemporaneous speaking, sophomore Dane Wimmer was fourth.

In domestic extemporaneous speaking, Johnson was first, Clark was second, Amen took third and junior Bradley Everett was sixth.

In impromptu speaking, junior Azalia Contreras was fifth, Reyes took sixth and junior Andrea Neufeld was seventh.

In duet acting, the team of Salas and Johnson took first.

Macias was named as the outstanding interpretive speaker for the meet.
