Speech team wins Morton meet

The speech team took sweepstakes in Morton on Sept. 24, winning over 31 other schools.

In impromptu speaking, senior Isabel Acosta was seventh.

In duet acting, the team of senior Madeline Hiebert and junior Carter Laramore took first, the team of Alex Gonzalez and senior Ashley Harder took second, the team of Acosta and senior Faith Klassen took 4th, the team of senior Grace Hatley and senior Nikki Loewen took fifth, the team of senior Gabe Royal and sophomore Amy Schultz took sixth.

In prose, Acosta took first, Harder took fourth, senior M.  Hiebert took third, senior Grace Hatley took fifth, sophomore Phiona Hiebert took sixth, Schultz took seventh.

In humorous interpretation, Acosta took first, senior M. Hiebert took fourth, Schultz took fifth.

In poetry, Hatley was first, Loewen took second,  P. Hiebert took sixth, junior Gonzalez was seventh.

In dramatic interpretation, M. Hiebert took first, Klaassen took third, Harder took fourth, Schultz took fifth, Loewen took sixth.

M. Hiebert was named outstanding in interpretation.
