The Indian track team took fifth overall and the Maiden team took ninth overall at the area track meet in Andrews on April 11. Ten athletes qualified for region competition across eight events by finishing in the top four positions. They will compete in the region meet at Lowry Field in Lubbock on April 19-20.
Regional qualifiers include senior Landry Reames who took second in the 110-meter hurdles and second. in the 300-meter hurdles. Senior Ava Olives took third in discus. Senior Channing Howard took second in the 100-meter dash. Senior Tatum Medlin took first in high jump. Sophomore Jordan Garcia took fourth in high jump. Sophomore Brittany Wimmer took fourth in long jump. The 1,600-meter relay team of senior Zach Smith, sophomore Caton Cramer, senior Eduardo Rodarte and senior Daniel Lapusan.
