Maidens clench playoffs, host Pecos tomorrow
The Maiden volleyball team will host Pecos for at its last home game tomorrow.
The Maidens have clenched a play-off berth in fourth place but have a chance to move up to third if they continue to win with two district games remaining.
“I’m excited but also terrified for the playoffs,” sophomore libero Emily Alvarez said. “Being in the playoffs means we have to start aggressively in the beginning and keep that same intensity in order to get farther in the playoffs.”
The Maidens have a record of 13-28 overall and 2-4 in district.
The Maidens fell during a non-district game to Denver City, 25-17, 25-14, 25-15, on Oct. 22. The Maidens only have seven active players due to sickness or injury.
