Indians get back to region tournament, to face Midlothian Heritage in semifinal
The Indian basketball team (25-8) will face Midlothian Heritage (32-6) in the region semifinal at 7 p.m. on March 2 at Lubbock Christian University.
The winner of that game will face either Estacado or Wylie in the final on March 3 at 1 p.m.
The Indians defeated Levelland, 61-46, on Feb. 27 for the region quarterfinal championship.
The Indians led all but the first quarter during the quarterfinal against the Lobos.
Senior guard Carter Johnson shot six of seven from outside the arc for 85 percent.
Sophomore forward Jalen Brattain and senior guard Carter Laramore led rebounding for the Indians with seven each.
The Indians improved 47 percent free throw shooting versus Clint in the area win to 78.6 percent against Levelland.
Tickets for the region semifinal are $10 for adults and $6 for students. Gates will open at 6 p.m. at LCU. The Indians will be the visiting team.
