Indian golfers take championship, Maidens second in Monahans

Driving practice– Senior Alec Winfrey takes practice swings at the driving range during after school golf on Feb. 5. Winfrey took fourth place as the Indians won the Monahans meet on Feb. 7.

The Indian golf team took first and the Maiden team took second at the Monahans meet on Feb. 6-7.

The Indians scored 647 strokes over the two-day tournament for the championship with senior Alec Winfrey taking fourth individually with a 79 on Friday and 77 on Saturday.

Results

The Maidens took second with 732 strokes.

Sophomore Lauren Franco and senior Janet Froese tied for fourth individually with a two-day total of 175 a piece.
