The JV Maiden basketball team is playing in the Denver City tournament this weekend.
“I’m hoping we play Kermit first round and make it to the champiomship to play Lamesa for a rematch,” Coach Jerrad Gray said.
Maidens defeated Lamesa, 52-22, taking their record to 5-1 on the year. Freshman Madison Burtch led scoring with 17 points, while freshman Baylee Lopez had 15.
“We had another great third quarter, outscoring them 19-5 in the third which pushed the lead from just six to 20 by the end of the third,” Gray said.
