Fifty-one SkillsUSA members qualified for state competition across 24 events at district contest in Odessa on Feb. 21-22. They will compete at state in Corpus Christi on April 2-5.

In SkillsUSA Art competition:
Chapter display took first with sophomores Kimberly Klassen, Susana Payan Quintana and Kylie Peters.
General knowledge quiz bowl took first with senior Peyton Casey, junior Britney Duong, junior Jose Gonzalez Aragon, senior Garrant Hill and senior Genavieve Neudorf.
T-shirt design: Payan Quinana took first, Klassen took second.
Pin design: Duong was first.
Photography: Neudorf was first.
Job exhibit notebook-open: senior Gavin Barringer, Duong and Gonzalez Aragon took first.
Job notebook-2D/3D animation: Casey was first.
Job interview: Hill was third.
Job demonstration open: Hill was third.
SkillsUSA Cosmetology competition:
Nail care: sophomore Jelena Hiebert was first, senior Jessica Froese was second.
Esthetics: senior Elizabeth Bear was first, senior Melissa Knelsen was second, and senior Alina Mendoza was third.
Customer service: senior Stephanie Whitsitt was first.
Cosmetology quiz bowl took third with seniors Ashley Vizcaino, Sammie Soliz, Martha Koethler, Mendoza, Cloe Dyck.
SkillsUSA Criminal Justice competition:
Police application: senior Nick Reyes was first and sophomore Avery Wood was third.
Criminal justice quiz bowl: Reyes, junior Bostyn Jaquez,Wood, junior Audiel Sanchez, sophomore Aileen Mata Pando and sophomore Victoria Baros took first.
Building search: freshman Frank Morales, Baros and freshman Myranda Gonzales took first.
Criminal justice skills: Reyes was first.
SkillsUSA Industrial Arts competition:
Welding sculpture: senior Annamarie Mares was second and senior Jazmin Nunez Ruiz was third.
Welding fabrication team: junior Dominick Higgins, senior Gonzalo Ariza Arellano and sophomore Gabriel Duran took third.
SkillsUSA Health Sciences competition:
Health knowledge bowl took first (seniors Yamileth Macias Unrest, Margarita Leanos, Jaedyn Bailey and Harley Hoffman) and second (seniors Zariah Sanchez, Jayziah Gutierrez, Jazzelle Vela and junior Gabryl Alaniz).
Basic healthcare skills: Bailey was first and Sanchez was second.
Job skills demonstration: Vela took third.

Automotive quiz bowl: first with sophomore Brandon Nosek, junior Tristian Cornet, sophomore Zayne Wiebe, junior Nehemiah Harvey, sophomore Alejandro Hernandez Perez and sophomore Destiny Neeld.
