Six FFA teams advanced to area leadership development events competition on Nov. 23 in Ira.
“For area you have to practice all year to get to your district contest,” FFA sophomore Dallas Turner said. “We spend a lot of time after school, during Tribe time and during periods working on our contest. That way we place first or second, so that we can advance in the area after district.”
The senior skills team took second place at district to advance with sophomores Rylie Ellison, Jaylin Milloy, Raegin Lord and Jayce Bear.
The greenhand skills team also advanced in second place with sophomore Kloe Giesbrecht, freshman Angel Pineda, freshman Trelyn Scott and freshman Jace Avery.
The senior quiz team took second place with junior Carlee Cottrell, junior Mason Sawatzky, junior Chase Elrod and sophomore Dallas Turner.
Radio team one took first place with Turner, sophomore Jaylin Milloy and senior Emily Archuleta.
Radio team two took second place with seniors Shaylee Wherley, Lliani Lopez and Sarah Danley.
The greenhand quiz team took first place with junior high students Spencer James, Jaxon Frias, Lillian Pipkin, Jaycee Milloy and Logan Wright.
