50 vocalists qualify for state competition

Fifty choir members qualified for state solo and ensemble competition in May after making a Division I on a Class I piece of music at competition on Jan. 31 at Frenship High School.

“I’m thrilled to see so many first divisions,” choir Director Eric Hindman said. “Our students have worked long and hard for this competition.”

Those who earned a Division I “Superior” rating on a Class I solos were junior Tori Acosta, junior Jason Arrezola, junior Blayne Childers, freshman Kenna Currie, junior Bryce Darby, junior Skyler Franklin, sophomore Morgan Gersbach, sophomore Alex Hindman, senior Arin Hindman, sophomore Kaitlyn Hogue, senior Sawyer Jenkins, freshman Shelby Klassen, sophomore Kaily Murphy, junior Jasmine Ochoa, senior Aubrey Owen, sophomore Brogan Purser, senior Raquel Rivera, sophomore Baelee Rodriguez, sophomore Gabe Roybal, senior Nathan Shortes, sophomore Kaitlyn Summers, senior Sierra Talamantes, junior Neil Thiessen, senior Tammy Tran, junior Sadie Wheeler, senior Jaxon Williams and senior Alissa Wright.

Earning a Division I “Superior” ensemble rating on English Madrigal one were Acosta, Arrezola, Franklin, Arin Hindman, Jenkins, senior Savannah Neudorf, Roybal, Tran, Wheeler and Wright.

Earning a Division I “Superior” ensemble rating on English Madrigal two were Childers, Darby, Alex Hindman, sophomore Julian Juarez, senior Rubena Loewen, Ochoa, Owen, Rivera, Shortes and Talamantes.

Earning a Division I “Superior” ensemble rating on English Madrigal three were sophomore Morgan Davidson, junior Ivan Froese, Gersbach, senior Krislyn Hallum, freshman Reese Moore, Murphy, Rodriguez and senior Kendyl Waller.

Earning a Division I “Superior” ensemble rating on English Madrigal four were sophomore Crystal Froese, sophomore Debbie Froese, junior Branson Moore, senior Shasta Pettyjohn, Purser, Summers and Williams.

Earning a Division I “Superior” rating on a Class II solo were freshman Alyssa Garcia and freshman Amanda Klassen.
