Out of all of the things I could do on a Saturday afternoon, I never thought I would experience an escape room. One of my friends asked me if I wanted to go with her to Lubbock with her family.
We went to a couple of places before we went to Time Crunch Escapes. When we walked in, we waited for a couple of minutes for our turn.
All four of us were then introduced to the different types of locks the room was going to have. Some of the locks were old-school locks. I didn’t know how I was going to crack that code, so I left it to my friend’s parents.
We became detectives on a mission to save the world. We were even given detectives’ badges.
We went into the room, and our timer began. We began looking for clues for the locks and places where the keys might be hidden.
After spending 20 minutes in the room, we figured out how clues led to keys which eventually led us to our next escape room.
The door opened into a restroom. We began searching for clues and ways to find the next key to the next room.
After finding most of the keys, but still not the one we needed, we were allowed to ask our host for a clue. He said, “One of y’all will have to get your hands dirty,” I got my hands dirty. After getting the key, we used it to open the door into a pressure room. I didn’t do much in that room; all I remember was hoping I wouldn’t get my hands dirty again.
My friend and her parents unlocked the next room; the door had five locks on it. When we went into the next room a finger was pointing.
I started looking at what it was pointing to and I found another key to a box that contained an aux cord which helped us unlock a satellite signal. We played with switches, maps and colors to access our next point.
When we got all of sequences right, we only had nine seconds to spare. but we finally won that escape room. At first, we thought we had lost until our host congratulated us and took us outside the escape room.
