Choir students earned 63 Division Is at UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest at Frenship High School on Feb. 1.
Forty-eight students performed with 44 advancing to state competition in May.
State-advancing soloists who performed a Class I solo included: junior Zaiden Bergen, senior Owen Call, senior Margarita Maese Carbajal, sophomore Nylah Carrasco, senior Geydis Cuesta Rodriguez, sophomore Leanna Dyck, sophomore Kloe Giesbrecht, freshman Jose Harms Wieler, junior Jazlynn Holmstrom, junior Ethan Laub, senior Lliani Lopez, senior Margarita Leanos, senior Morelia Medina Macias, senior Genavieve Neudorf, sophomore Alyssa Peters, senior Isabella Rudder, senior Ethan Salazar and senior Garrett Sellers.
Non-advancing solist who performed a Class II solo included: freshman Debbi Giesbrecht.
Four ensembles advanced to state with Division I ratings singing the madrigal “I Love, Alas, I Love Thee” by Thomas Morley:

One Women’s Quartet earned the Division I rating advancing to state singing “The Silver Swan” by Orlando Gibbons: freshman Chloe Baldwin, Giesbrecht, freshman Elisia Jaramillo and freshman Lily Rempel.
