Six artists qualified to be judged at state in Visual Arts Scholastic Event after competition at Coronado High School in Lubbock on Feb. 10.
Junior Jerzey Alvarado qualified with her multi media piece Derealization. Junior Gavin Barringer qualified with his drawing Simple, Not Simple. Sophomore Britney Duong qualified with her painting Quiet Night. Sophomore Anna Harder qualified for a second year in a row with her sculpture On Fire. Senior Wyatt Henson qualified with his sculpture Pressure. Junior Cinthia Yanez Martinez also qualified for state for a second time with her sculpture Homebody.
The students’ artwork will be judged at the state VASE competition at San Marcos High School on April 26-27.
