31 vocalist qualify for state solo and ensemble
The choir took 59 first division superior ratings and advanced 31 vocalists to state solo and ensemble competition after tryouts in Seminole on Feb. 4.
Class I solos earning a Division I and advancing to state included: freshman Zaiden Bergen, junior Aubrey Brown, junior Carsen Cox, sophomore Owen Call, junior Aiden Garibay, junior Aidan Garza, junior Jessica Giesbrecht, senior Ashlyn Hyatt, junior Angie Klassen Enns, senior Garrett Lentz, sophomore Lliani Lopez, sophomore Margarita Maese Carbajal, senior Olivia Rempel and sophomore Garrett Sellers.
One medium ensemble took a Division I and advanced to state singing “Annabel Lee”: senior Abigail Baldwin, sophomore Geydis Cuesta Rodriguez, freshman Ivy Flores, freshman Nayeli Gamboa, freshman Ethan Laub, freshman Monica Morin, sophomore Jazmin Nunez Ruiz, senior Gabrielle Shaw, freshman Jammie Sotelo, freshman Emily Tagle, freshman Eva Thiessen, freshman Alexis Wiebe and freshman Serina Wiebe.
Three ensembles qualified for state with Division I’s singing “Now is the Month of Maying”,
Ensemble one included freshman Adrian Balderas, junior Alec Bergen, Brown, Cox, senior Lacee Friesen, Giesbrecht, junior Jonathan Holt, Lopez, sophomore Javy Rodriguez and junior Aricela Wiebe.
Ensemble two included Z. Bergen, junior Heidy Friesen, junior Nathan Friessen, senior Jordan Giesbrecht, senior Karsyn Hogue, Hyatt, Maese Carbajal, freshman Phillip Morrow, junior Aryn Roybal and Sellers.
Ensemble three included Call, junior Landon Elder, senior Abigail Fortner, Garibay, Klassen Enns, Lentz, sophomore Genavieve Neudorf, Rempel, sophomore Isabella Rudder and sophomore Danny Tran.
Three students earned Division I superior ratings on Class II solos which do not advance to state: Cuesta Rodriguez, Sotelo and Thiessen.
