SOUNDBITE: Best bites in this burg

This issue I put the emphasis on the Bite in Soundbite. On average I eat out two days in the week. I have been in, out, and around every restaurant in Seminole. I like to think of myself as an expert when it comes to food, especially food found in our little town. So, I thought, why not share my knowledge with the world?

Best Mexican food: In my opinion the new restaurant across the street from the Catholic church, Salsa’s Tacos and More is best. It is spicier than your usual Tex-Mex but it is great.

Best chicken-fried steak: I feel Charlie’s wins this category. I was raised on chicken-fried steak. I have had many in my life from all over Texas, but none compares to Charlie’s.

Best ice cream: Pizzeria La Sierra takes the cake (or rather, the ice cream) in this category. It is homemade, and tastes like angels made it.

Best after-school snacking: I try to avoid chain restaurants, but in the category, Sonic is the best. It has so many options in carrying sizes which is great for a variety of appetites.

Best pizza: My personal favorite! Everyone loves pizza, and the best pizza in town, I discovered, is a winner of a previous category: Pizzeria La Sierra. The crust almost melts in your mouth. I am not a big fan of crust, but I love Pizzeria’s crust and the rest of their pizza as well.

Best drink: Now, I know I said I was avoiding chains, but I’m going to have to go with Sonic again for this category. There are just so many options. You could literally go there every day and never get the same drink twice. I love experimenting with Sonic’s drink options (though sometimes they don’t turn out all that great).

Best buffet: Just A Bite has the best buffet. It is very diverse in its content and never disappoints.

Best burger: Daily Burgers is the best. Many times burgers are served greasy and gross, but I have never received such a burger from Daily Burgers.

Best breakfast: This is simple–a burrito from Mireya’s. They have such variety, and their tortilla’s are fantastic. If you ever see them open, seize the opportunity to get a breakfast burrito because they are rarely open.

Best doughnut: I only had two options to choose from, so with the help of my little brother, I conducted a blind taste test. The new Donuts place or the veteran Five Star Donut & Deli II. In the blind taste test, the Five Star doughnut won.

I know some of you are screaming, “No! That’s not right!” To each his or her own. I’m no food critic, but I love food, so you can assume these spots are pretty great.
