The speech team took second at the Lubbock High meet on Dec. 10.

In poetry, sophomore Phiona Hiebert took second, junior Isabel Acosta was third, and senior Faith Klassen was fourth.

In humorous interpretation, Acosta took second.

In dramatic interpretation, senior Madeline Hiebert took first, sophomore Amy Schultz took second, senior Ashley Harder was fourth, freshman Bryce Lopez took fifth and sophomore Dillon Gutierrez took sixth.

In duet acting, seniors Nikki Loewen and Grace Hatley took first, P. Hiebert and Gutierrez were second and Acosta and Klassen took fourth.

In duo interpretation, Harder and Klassen took first, and Acosta and Hatley were fourth. Junior Lori Wilson was named outstanding LD debater.

The following students qualified for the Texas Forensics Association state tournament in Dallas in March: Harder, Klassen, P. Hiebert, Gutierrez, Loewen, Hatley, Acosta.
