War Whoop Online

Anna Teichroeb
As I write this, I consume  my second dose of black coffee after a night of maybe four hours of sleep only to spend my time typing this concoction up while emotionally unstable after just finishing a show I’ve been binge-watching for less than a week now.

Therefore, I apologize if my short autobiography bores you in a distasteful fashion. I’ve been in the high school journalism department for two years now going on three. What started off as a class that wouldn’t require too much of me has ended up consuming my very being.

I’m the editor in chief of the newspaper, editor of the People section in the yearbook, the director of the broadcast show The BEAT, and the one and only artist of all the different formats we publish in the journalism department. With all of this on top of my non-journalistic classes, I won’t be surprised if I end up crying myself to sleep every night by the end of the first semester.

Just to clarify from that spew at the beginning of this mess, I don’t normally binge-watch anything, and the reason I’m not getting eight or nine hours of sleep every night is due to the fact that I’m house training a puppy that can’t yet hold her bladder (thanks Zoey).

I am addicted to coffee, and I think everyone can agree that is a factual statement and not an exaggeration.

Something that makes people look at me like I’m a  lunatic is the fact that I’m a morning person. Over summer break, I woke up at 6 to 7 in the morning every day due to my internal clock. I know-- completely bonkers.

My Instagram bio says “cat lady in training,” and if you scrolled through what I’ve posted, you’d know I’m not lying because most of my pictures are of my lovely cat Fable.

As an artist, I hate art. That’s a contradiction in itself, but just hear me out. I hate making art unless I really want to and if there’s no pressure on me to do so. I don’t hate art in itself, that’s impossible. Art is everything. However, I avoid looking at other peoples’ artwork and my own because after 10 years of it, I’m tired. It’s one of the saddest things to fall out of love with something you put everything into, but it is what it is.

On a different note, I’m a clean freak. I hate anything dirty or messy, so much so that I spend my free time cleaning up around my house (which is hard to do when you live with my family). Although two animals sleep and eat in my room, it’s the cleanest place in the house.

I listen to music all the time, and at that, every genre of music ever (pop, rock, R&B, rap, EDM, instrumental songs without lyrics, songs in different languages, etc.).

If you’ve read up to this point, congrats-- you’ve learned things about me yet gained nothing of benefit. You're welcome, and have a nice life.
