GOOD SPORT: Boomer Sooner, that’s me

GOOD SPORT: Boomer Sooner, thats me

The ball is on the 30 yard line, Oklahoma has the ball and the crowd is roaring. The ball is snapped, clock is ticking. Baker Mayfield moves out of the pocket and completes an amazing pass to Dimitri Flowers. He jukes a defender and scores!

That’s what I’m talking about! Football has been a part of my life since I was little. My dad would always watch it, so it made me start to like it. When I was younger, I really didn’t understand the game, but now that I’ve grown up, I do. I get to watch my favorite teams perform every weekend. When the game is on the line, I like to see what they’re going to do next. I like when the crowd gets loud, the game gains momentum, and the outcome changes. My heart sings when they’re in the lead by a large margin.

I normally spend my entire weekend watching football. I watch college football on Friday and Saturday. I watch the whole season leading up to the bowl games and the BCS championship. I mainly watch Oklahoma. When they lose, my whole house is heavy-hearted, and if the Sooners make a horrendous play, I yell at the TV.

The Sooners are my all-time favorite. When I was growing up, my dad always had the Oklahoma football games on. I started to like them and watch them. Now I am a die-hard fan. The main reason–Baker Mayfield. He is the best quarterback in the nation. The Sooners have seven national championships and 46 conference championships. This year they will go to the national championship and win. I get called out sometimes for being an Oklahoma fan when I’m from Texas. Everybody says I might as well move to Oklahoma. All I have to say about that is haters gonna hate.

On Sunday, I watch the pros go at it. It is more challenging for all the players to compete on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays. I love watching the Saints, although when they lose, I don’t really take it that hard because they’re always losing. I started to like them about three years ago because of how they play. My favorite player is Drew Brees. They also added Adrian Peterson, but I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing yet.

One thing I despise is when the Cowboys get a win and all the fake Cowboys fans wear their jerseys. I don’t like the Cowboys fans because I feel people bandwagon when they have a good season, and when they have a bad season, people act like they don’t even exist. Sometimes, I just don’t know why people like the Cowboys because they lose when it matters, and everybody has a heart attack if they get beaten in the playoffs.

I, on the other hand, will stay a Sooners fan until the end.
