Maidens take sole possession of first place with win over Shallowater

The Maiden volleyball team took only three games to defeat Shallowater on Oct. 15 on the Maidens’ floor, 25-14, 25-9, 25-12. The win broke the tie for the district lead between the Maidens and the Lady Mustangs.

Sophomore hitter Kendall Freeman led the Maidens with 19 kills, one and a half blocks, 13 service points including six aces, one assist and eight digs. Senior Hope Hicks had seven kills and 15 service points, while sophomore Melanie Sendejo had five kills.

The Maidens’ overall record is 20-13 and 5-1 in district.
