Senior quiz team eighth at FFA state contest

FFA’s leadership senior quiz team placed eighth at state in at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville on Dec. 6.
The area championship team of senior Taylor Carlisle, juniors Delaney Brown, Taylor Carter and sophomore Zoee Nolen tied for sixth at state but the rules on ties put them in eighth.
Some 665 teams competed in the senior quiz bowl competition in 1A through 6A with only 24 qualifying for state.
In the senior quiz contest FFA members take an exam testing team members’ understanding of the FFA, agricultural education, current agricultural events and parliamentary procedure.
“I am extremely proud of the time and effort these students have dedicated to compete at a high level,” FFA sponsor Chad Orum said.
