Instrumentalists qualify for all-region honor bands

Eleven band members advanced  in December to the all-area honor band and a chance to try out for the all-state band on Jan. 9. The try outs were virtual due to the pandemic.

Those 11 also were members of the all-region honor band.

On flute, freshman Madison Fieler took fourth chair.

On clarinet, senior Kaylee Garcia was second chair, while sophomore Erik Rocha was third, freshman Alexia Gonzales was fifth and freshman David Fierro Lara took sixth chair.

On trumpet, junior Daniel Carrizales took first chair, junior Logan Jennings took was second chair, junior Luis Gameros Robles was fourth chair and junior Xavier Romero was fifth chair.

On Euphonium, junior Caleb Stanley was third chair.

On percussion, junior Ember Webb was second chair.

Thirteen additional band members qualified for the all-region 3A-4A band.

On flute, freshman Aubrey Brown in fourth chair.

On clarinet, senior Whitlee Tate in first chair.

On bass clarinet, junior Laura Garcia in first chair, freshman Nevaeh Wiebe in second chair.

On tenor saxophone, Tate took 2nd chair.

On trumpet, freshman Ravin Banman was third chair.

On French horn, sophomore Austin Lacy took second chair.

On trombone, freshman Wyatt Henson was second chair and senior Angel Perez was third chair.

On euphonium, senior Seth Barrientes was first chair.

On tuba, freshman Timothy McClain was first chair, and senior Bryan Wiebe was second chair.

On percussion, sophomore Jake Sumrow was first chair.

Alternates include senior Miguel Arreola Lechuga on alto saxophone and sophomore Kaegan Lovelady on percussion.
