Two male vocalists were named to the Texas Music Educators All-State Small School Choir on Jan. 10 after auditions at Abilene Cooper High School.

Junior Blayne Childers qualified for one of two spots as a Tenor 2, while senior Sawyer Jenkins qualified for one of two spots as Bass 1.

Other choir members who auditioned at the all-state level include sophomore Alex Hindman-Tenor 1, junior Bryce Darby-Soprano 2 and senior Arin Hindman-Alto 2.

“I’m very proud of our students,” Choir Director Eric Hindman said. “They started this process in June and made it through many competitions and practice rooms to get to this point.”
