Eighteen SkillsUSA members qualified for state competition in Corpus Christi in March after District 2 competition in San Angelo on Feb. 6.

In cosmetology, the team of senior Emily Letkeman, senior Judy Klassen and senior Naomi Giesbrecht took first for chapter display.

Junior Lisa Unger took second and junior Martha Friessen took third in cosmetology.

Lorena Cervantes of Denver City took second and April Vasquez of Seagraves took third in nail art.

In career prep, senior Nicolas Garcia took first in action skills.

Sophomore Makayla Duncan took second and junior Savannah Gonzales took third in occupational skills.

The team of senior Annie Rempel, senior Brittany Quiring and senior Katy Thiessen took first in emblem ceremony.

Sophomore Cade Thomas took first in photography.

In auto tech, the team of junior Crystal Froese, senior Samuel Letkeman, senior Trevin Harris, senior Dustin Neufeld and sophomore Henry Klassen took first in automotive quiz bowl.

Senior Garrett Guffey took second place in diesel service.

The team of freshman Sydni Spence, senior Alexa Macias and junior Koy Duncan took first in community service project.

Neufeld took second and S. Letkeman took third in related technical math.

S. Letkeman took first, H. Klassen took second, and Froese took third in motorcycle service.

Harris took second in customer service.

In addition to these state qualifiers, seven students were elected as District 2 officers: Duncan, Friesian, Froese, H. Klassen, Thomas and Unger.
